FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) - Sen. John Edwards accused President Bush on Monday of ``exploiting a national tragedy for personal gain'' in a blistering speech preceding Bush's own address about terrorism in a state in the shadow of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
``George Bush today is making one last stand to con the American people into believing that he is the only one who can fight and win the war on terrorism,'' the Democratic vice presidential nominee said. ``John Kerry defended this country as a young man.
