The United States recorded its 900th military casualty in the Iraq campaign on Wednesday, as a roadside bomb killed a member of the 1st Infantry Division.

There are no reliable figures for how many Iraqis have been killed since the U.S.-led coalition started bombarding the country on March 20, 2003, but estimates put the number of fatalities at more than 11,000.
