A special nine-member bipartisan presidential panel, led by retired federal judge Laurence Silberman and former Senator Charles Robb, has cast doubts over US intelligence on Iran’s nuclear programs.
A presidential order last year tasked the panel with studying the quality of US intelligence on the proliferation of nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons. Now concluding its 14-month review, the panel is due to report its findings to US President George Bush on 31 March, but the New York Times reported some early conclusions already on Wednesday.
