MALACAÑANG on Tuesday ruled out any preemptive strikes in the Philippines launched by Australian troops against terrorists.
The Palace was reacting to a plan by Australian Prime Minister John Howard to deploy “flying squads” of Australian police to stop terrorist attacks in the Asia-Pacific regions, particularly the Philippines and Indonesia. “Any intrusion by ‘flying squads’ into Philippine territory is out of question,” the President’s spokesman and press secretary, Ignacio Bunye, said.
