Defence Minister Robert Hill has expressed regret that the military failed to tell the Government earlier about the prisoner abuse scandal in Iraq. Senator Hill released the findings of an internal departmental investigation into how Australian military officers knew about allegations of serious prisoner mistreatment since last October, but failed to pass the information on to Government ministers.
