MANILA - Philippine security forces have arrested a Palestinian suspected of being a member of Al-Qaida who trained local Muslim rebels in bomb-making on the remote southwestern island of Jolo, officials said on Thursday.

The Palestinian, identified as Fawazzi Ajjur, was detained by immigration agents on Saturday after arriving in Zamboanga City, on the southern island of Mindanao, on a flight from Sandakan in the eastern Malaysian state of Sabah.
