JEDDAH, SAUDI ARABIA - Twelve people died, several more were injured and about 18 others were taken hostage Monday when gunmen attacked the U.S. Consulate in the Saudi city of Jeddah.

None of the people who died were American, though several U.S. citizens were slightly injured, officials said.
