A car bomb went off in the northeastern city of Mosul on Monday as a seven-vehicle Iraqi National Guard patrol was passing by, killing at least four guardsmen and injuring three others, police said. According to The AP, gunmen followed up the bombing with a burst of automatic weapons fire before fleeing the scene, said Lt. Col. Saleh Jamer, the patrol's commander.
