Sudanese troops have raided two refugee camps near Nyala in Darfur denying aid agencies access to the refugees inside them, the United Nations says.

The operation occurred as fighting was reported 20km north of Nyala. The army says it was asked to protect refugees and evict imposters, but the UN says it is part of a pattern of deteriorating security across Darfur.
