More than 600,000 people in Coast Province urgently require relief food to avert mass starvation.

Coast Provincial Commissioner Mr Cyrus Maina told the East African Standard and KTN television team that out of a population of 3.1 million in the region 641,000 people require relief food. According to statistics availed to us, more than 200,000 people in Kwale District are faced with starvation, while in Tana River District there are about 147,940.
