THE United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan and African Union Commission Chairman Oumar Konare have decried the slow response of the international community to resolve Darfur crisis.
In a joint statement yesterday, they are seeking about $350 million in aid to help more than three million people survive through the rest of this year.
It will also be used to mobilise more troops, police, aircraft and other logistical support for AU peace force to protect the population in the war-torn region. Full Story>> |
