Kinshasa - Parliament in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) went into a special session where the transitional legislature will debate a draft new constitution as the basis of a post-war democratic regime.

Of 500 members of the National Assembly, 325 showed up for the opening day of the new session, convened by President Joseph Kabila, where a draft of the country's basic law is a top agenda item, an AFP correspondent said.
