LAGOS, Feb 5 (Reuters) - An ambush on a boat by a rival community in a protracted bitter dispute over an oil-rich parcel of land in southeastern Nigerian state of Bayelsa has killed nine people, police said on Saturday.

Police said the nine, four of them councillors from Odiama community were travelling on the Nembe creek on Thursday when they were kidnapped and later killed by militant youths from neighbouring Bassambiri village.
